Ingredients

This is a step - by - step manual how to create an ingredient in Leeroy Cloud. 
Ingredients are the smallest building blocks of a product and they can be used to create recipes, calculating cost, and enable a guest to customize their order.

Select ingredient under the Product management section in the side menu

Overview ingredients


 
The first view shows the ingredients you already have created. If you don't have any added yet this list would be empty.


The list shows the ingredients id, name and creation and update information.
Id is set when you create the ingredient. 
You can also search for a specific ingredient by typing in the search field above the list.

Create ingredient



Create the ingredients you wish to build recipes from. Click on create on the top left corner of the overview.

Fields

Ingredient category - Type of food, such as food or drink.
Unit category - In which type of quantity the ingredient comes when purchased, such as e.g. weight or quantity.
Default unit - What size you buy the raw material in, for example in kilos or volume. An example is that if weight is entered in "Unit category", you enter kilos, grams or another weight measure here.

Options to save

The "Save" button has three options you can choose from by clicking the arrow. This determines what happens when you save the ingredient:

Save and close - Save and close the popup—return to the list (default).
Save and edit details - Save and go to more advanced settings page.
Save and add another - Save and restore the form to quickly add more.

You can also click "Reset" to clear all the fields, including the dropdown menus.



Basic information



The ingredient must have a name so it can be search for when you create a recipe.
Description is useful if you want to add some info about the ingredient.
If "View in report" is checked the ingredient will be included in reports. This is useful if you want to have reports on ingredient level.



Ingredients settings



Units, category and portion are set to get an estimate of the cost of the ingredient. This is required to get an accurate cost for your recipes.


Unit Category - E.g volume, weight or pieces for the purchase unit
Default unit - The type of purchase unit. E.g kilo
Par amount - Minimum of stock 
Ingredient category - Type of ingredient. E.g Food or drink

If defining a basic portion size these values will be preselected when including the ingredient in a recipe.
Basic portion value - The value of the portion. E.g 0.5
Basic portion size -  The type of the value. E.g Litre 


Ingredients cost



This is where you set the cost of the ingredient. It's used to calculate the cost of your recipes so you get the right estimate for your products.


Base cost - The cost for the purchase unit. E.g purchase unit in Kg therefore the cost would be /Kg.
Added cost - If there is any cost for preparation. E.g slicing tomatoes or preparation.
Final base cost - The total cost for the default purchase unit( will be shown after save)

Allergens


Here you can set the allergens and add declaration of contents on your ingredients

Save



Click save to save the ingredient and make it available for use in recipes. If you don't save and leave this form the work you done is lost.
Final base cost will be updated after saving.


Edit and delete ingredients



Each ingredient in the list has some options. Click on the three dots on the right in the list top open the options.


You can edit an ingredient and when choosing this option you will be redirected to the sam form as when you create a new ingredient. You can edit all fields in the form.
You can delete an ingredient by clicking on that option.




You will have to confirm your choice so an ingredient don't get deleted by mistake.
