Promo codes - tutorial

A tutorial for how to set up a promo code. A promo code is used to “unlock” an offer in the app. The offer is hidden until you’ve written the promo code - you can think about the promo code as a key, unlocking the offer.

You can write the promo code under “your offers” or in the cart when placing an order. How you share the promo code is up to you.

  1. Enter a (internal) name for the promo code so you can find it easily later under Campaigns or under Offers.

  2. Choose an existing campaign to add/link the promo code to.
(You need to create a campaign first if you don't have one. What’s a campaign?)

Promo code

  1. What code should the customer provide to get the discount?

    1. Enter the promo code which unlocks this offer. The promo code must contain at least 3 characters and may be any combination of letters, numbers and special characters.

      1. For example: Opening2020 or Businessdeal1

  2. This is the code you will share with your customers or members, however you want outside the app.

Settings for the promo code-offer

Scheduling

Select the dates for when you want the promo code is valid, and when the offer start and end. Click the square with dates. A calendar box will pop up. Click on the desired dates.

Limitations

Available on days
What days should the offer be valid? You can choose one, some or all days.

Available through dining type
Do you want the offer to apply to both takeaway and eat-in orders? Or should it only work e.g. for customers who order in the app or scans the offer (from the app) at the register but eat in the restaurant?

When does the customer have to pick up their order?
This setting determines what time of the day the offer should be valid. E.g. Lunchtime 11-14.
The customer can make the order at any time (preorder) but not collect the order until the selected pick up time is reached. The customer also needs to set the corresponding pickup time in the app when the order is made to be able to get access to the offer. In this example has the order to be picked up between 11-14 o'clock.

Restrict offer to specific stores
Pick one or more restaurants from the drop-down list if you like an offer only to be valid on those restaurants. All customers with the app can see the offer in the app, but it can only be redeemed at the selected restaurants.

When should the customer have registered in the app to receive the offer?
If you like to target customers who have registered to the app in a certain time e.g. new customers under a specific period, use this setting to specify what date. You can enter either a “from”-date, “to”-date or both. If not, choose Anytime.

Amount of offers that can be redeemed
Have you made a really good offer and want to limit how many offers can be redeemed?
Just click Specified number and enter your desired number in the input field.

Allow offer to be used in the same order more than one time?
If NO is chosen: You will limit the usage of the offer to only one at each purchase.

If Yes is chosen: The customer get the set % discount on the whole order and can use that on each redeem they have (next setting). That means that there are no limit on that specific purchase of how much the customer can purchase and get discounted.

How many times can a customer redeem the offer?
Here you can limit how many times a certain user can use an offer, select once or Specified number and enter that amount of redeems you like your customer to have. E.g. 3 = 3 uses.

For example: If you combine the two settings about limited uses above, you can e.g. set 100 uses, max 1 per user. All app users you have targeted will see this offer but it is the “first come” (först till kvarn) rule that will apply. When a user has used his/hers 1 redeem, the offer will disappear from his/her app but will still be visible for those who have not redeemed the offer. After all 100 uses have been redeemed the offer will disappear from all user's apps.

Can this be combined with other offers?
This setting determines if the offer can be used together with another offer.
